Hey there, I've just wrapped up another review for Black Ops Toys. This time out it's Hot Toys latest batch of True Types, including both the African American and Caucasian Advanced versions, as well as the Narrow Shoulder True Type. I hope that you guys enjoy this latest.

Thank you very much for taking time to read my reviews... I greatly appreciate the time and feedback.

-Mike

Nice review Mike! thank for sharing this. Have you took pictures of the back of TTM14 HS?? I'm thinking about take hair off but I'm afraid how big will be the head-back-portion without mass/coverage... do you have more pics of it? thanks a lot!

Thank you very much:) I will take a pic for you - I will also take a pic of the top of the head to give you a look at the concavity on the heads crown. I am thinking of doing a photoshop mock up of my proposed plans for the hair I am going to sculpt.

Thank you very much:) It is glued on, and it takes some pulling to free it. I would suggest not heat the head first as this would possible damage the hair line. Instead just get a good firm finger grip on the hair and start working it. I had to go at it from all angles so as not to rip the hair or damage the head.

Thank you very much:) I like writing them - although I am always a little stressed to get them finished.

I just concluded another one last night before polishing up the True Type review. And once I have the pics I will post this as yet unpublished review.

It is crazy - I totalled the word count for all of my Black Ops Toys reviews to date, and the total is over 30,000 words. I equated that to about 75 pages of type in an average paperback novel as the average paperback has about 400 words per page. Got me thinking that I may want to write an actual book some day. I just need to take a class or two to learn better punctuation - and sentence structure, etc..

Well, well, these 3 get better all the time. I will have to lay hands on all 3 at some point. What you've shown with the long haired TT above will also be able to be done on Abigail Whistler, so, if she's the same as this underneath then it opens up more hair possibilities than was first thought.

I might even get a couple of spares of both and see what I can do....

CHEERS!

Thank you Roger:) I agree - it is very helpful to have a nearly full size skull on which to build up alternate hair options. I would love to see the Abigail Whistler figure when it comes out - would be neat to be able to have a rooted hair style on that one:)

I'd rate them 4.5/5. They still need a pivot joint at the base of the skull and if possible, being able to lift their thighs higher. As far as proportions and aesthetics, they get 10/5 in my book. They're almost perfect. almost there!

That would be a treat indeed:) I think I might use the Dremel to increase the elevation range of the thighs. I have a TT that I am modding for an upcoming bash that could use this extra range of motion.

so the hair is removable..thank god..does it take a lot of work to remove it..?..am definitely gettin this version..thnx for your time fiddling and reviewing the set man..

I just had to work at it for a minute or so. It is best to go at it from different angle to get all of the edges to release before the big pull. That way nothing rips - like taking a big adhesive label off of something and having it remain in one piece.

I didn't have the loose joints thank goodness.

I have seen HT figures with loose ankles and shoulders - two very troublesome areas when it comes to loose joints as the figure won't stand or hold weapons properly. I was lucky with the three I handled in the review.

I didn't try to remove the head, but I have a Caucasian Advanced head-sculpt that I picked up loose, and when I popped it onto an older HT TT it was a little tight at the clavicular insertion point.
