let the seller learn the hard way, when he's unable to offload them or the price he expect's wants. he should know 1/6 prices are very much in flux, as they can drop quickly, and have done so with the ace and eventual dam vietnam product. in 6 months if these are not lower than $600, i will be suprised.

Last week the Platoon line sold for $430. I messaged him with a link to the actual auction page and my offer. he was very impolite and said he'd wait for a serious bidder who;d pay $2k for them.

I think most of us have learned the hard way that buying figures as an investment is a total crapshoot. this hobby is all about the latest and greatest, who would pay triple the price for an outdated product?

There's lots of reasons why people would put unrealistically high-priced items on Ebay. Those people are not necessarily idjits and they don't necessarily expect to sell. Maybe they want to elicit offers but they don't want to tip off their real expectations so they list an absurd price. Maybe they just want to drive attention clickbait to their ebay store, or other goods. Or maybe they're trolling, because regular as clockwork, somebody here or on SSFs inevitably gives them the satisfaction of starting up some "is this crazy" thread, and they just laugh at everyone who posts... wait a minute... :wink

If that were the case it would help if the seller used a correct title so people could find the listings. He's managed to sell something despite that however, so a small victory there. Probably just not a computer savvy seller. I've seen worse from actual hobby stores.
