I've finally started working on my diorama, one of my favorite scenes from WW2 photos is the towns people watching the Gis coming into town,it was usually old men, kids and women,I've got a couple of old guys in suits but I'm having a hard time find period correct clothing for women, all the clothes for the Phicens are slut clothes, which just don't work for a WW2 scene, unless you are doing the town .....,of course she will make an appearance later, but for now I want the regular citizens,I've spent hours on ebay looking through listings and haven't found anything.
I might have to raid my daughters Barbie doll clothes and see if I can find anything, they might fit some of the leaner Kumiks bodies,I know they don't fit most of the Phicens, maybe some of the newer smaller bodied gals.
So if anyone knows of an outfit that sells period clothes for women I would really appreciate a link. Thanks

I have been waiting 15 yrs for good WWII Female civilian clothing....or even military allied cloths. I use a number of dresses I commissioned yrs ago to outfit mine, they work great for summer as they are short sleeved. For any sort of cold weather, I usually use male sweaters etc..over top not perfect but works.

The only thing I can think of is male clothing modified to fit, which requires some tailoring to what ever pants or shirts you need.

Just remember that skirt length was just below the knee.

Yeah, this has been a pet peeve of mine for years, since I've put together a similar group of townspeople. Good Stuff To Go used to carry a line of dresses in green, blue and red that were perfect. Another source I've used was the Eleanor's Girls line, long gone now too. More recently a female Luftwaffe Helferin figure was released. If you remove the insignia from the uniform, it works well as a nice grey suit. Coats are fairly plentiful if you search Ebay. Barbie clothes will probably only fit Barbie dolls - the proportions are totally bizzarre.

Another thing to bear in mind is that nylons were very rare and most women wore socks with skirts and dresses instead.

Here's a sample of some of the stuff I've collected over the past 8 years or so.

Now, if you ever manage to find a female figure with a 1940s appropriate hairstyle - that would be gold!!!

I wish the guys that run these forums would leave stuff alone, with this change I no longer get thread reply notifications, same thing happens with just about every forum I get on!
My mother used to make custom clothes for my daughters barbies, looks like I'm going to have to enlist her help!
Spitfire, where did that old guy in the middle of the back row come from? I have Klink and one other old guy so far but I'm always looking for more!

I found a couple outfits, both are German, but since that is where the diorama id based I think it will work! The Phicen I dressed in a German women's uniform,of course it doesn't fit,her butt is hanging out the back and I can't get the front closed over her breast, but it's a start, the nurse was a figure that was dressed in a X wing pilots suit, she has a pretty good face and I got it cheap enough, actually made money on it because I turned around and sold the suit, the nurses suit fits her very well, the white stockings are actually socks from the Stalin figure, which is why they are too baggy, but again it's a start. My one old guy is of course Klink, not sure who the other guy was!
