What is up with Hot Toys Aliens colonial marines 1/6 figures being sold for several hundred dollars on Ebay and Amazon?
When were they released?
What was the original price?
I've seen prices from about $300 to over $1000 for each of them. It's usually around $550 to $650. This is insanity. OMG.

Rare, cool, and unique. The fact that they're from a very famous and popular movie franchise only adds to it.

IIRC, the original retail price for the first 3 figures in the series (which came out in 2006) was $85 apiece.

Weep... such sorrowful thoughts to remember those beautiful prices of an era long gone. Funny to think that price may have even seemed a tad high and troubling back then. When Sideshow figures were selling for $35-65 anything over that was debatable. Also HT was not a big player or a largely recognized company so there was no appropriate mindset about investing in their products so sheepishly. To think we could have bought the whole Aliens series for about as much as a couple of today's diecast Iron Man figures.

Well, enough talk and moaning and groaning... got to do something about it now and get to work on that time machine.

Well back then the sculpting/bodies and paint work was just a step above Sideshow. Impressive, but if you compare those to modern HT it's night and day.
