Rules are simple. I'm just looking to gauge interest on OSW in a few ideas. Pick one that you especially like (please vote!) and feel free to discuss any of these. No grunts, SEALs, or pilots please - just straight up Army Special Forces (and possibly NVA, playing a hunch on those).

The Terp
- Indig Vietnamese with either a plain, black, or spray-paint camo OG-107. Team hat with Vietnamese jump wings. Standard M1956 webgear arrangement with some small extras thrown in. Biggest draw would be the smaller nude and micro-grenades (smoke and frag).

The Legend
- Son Tay Raider. Tricked out kit - Air Force XM177 with the occluded sight, custom mag pouches for the 30-round mags, rigger's backpack, breaching gear, miner's light, and those small radios the element leaders had taped to their gear. Uniform would be OG-107s with subdued insignia and the ubiquitous patrol cap. Everything would be true to the actual raider kit.

Tilt

The Leader - Ed Wolcoff or Tilt. 'Nuff said.

The Infiltrator
- RT West Virginia-style recon man using NVA uniforms and equipment. NVA uniform, pith helmet, chest rig, and a Type-56, mixed with U.S. webgear and grenades. It'd be fun to give this guy a set of BCG's.

The Hunter
- Counter-recon NVA. Could be a straight-up NVA with the green "winter" uniform, pith helmet, chest rig, rice carrier, ruck, and webgear. Primary would probably be a Type-56, but could be an RPG-2 or - for real fun - an RPD. Alternate idea involves the "grenade board" counter-recon team that attacked RT California in the dead of night.

What changed? You said "No grunts", but there's a slot in the poll for them. Are we talking about a commercial figure, or a bash?

I voted Wolcoff, but if your asking it would be nice to get a grunt before anymore SF although I think you know that CC ;-)

If this is research for a new ACE figure, heck I'll take all of the above, they are about the best nam stuff I have seen in a long time

I voted for Tilt,,, but having a production figure with a chopped RPD??,, that is all gucci,,lol and too good to pass up!

But herein lies my dilema,,I am still utterly facinated by Pre '65 special forces,,so i would personally be asking for a figure based on Capt Donolon,, Gillespie, leigh Wade,, all from the '62-64 era,, beo gams, carbines/grease guns/ Swedish K's, ,,Okinawa boots/ bata boots, french Bush hats,, and a whole lot of ,,"disgression",,lol
As far as the SOG,, can i suggest the early '65 missions,Dick meadows and his crew,, ,,
Does anyone else have any interest in the "cowboy day" of the SF?

Cheers

The poll needs to have a "make all" option. But for me if NVA were to be made I would want the figure to look Vietnamese and be the correct size (height and proportions). None of these just because the guy is Asian we make him an NVA guy that stands as tall as an American. Also no goofy looking heads or dumb faces. Action (yelling) or straight/serious faces would be best.

I love the whole shebang, start to finish. Sometimes I think the old, "boxed set", without a figure, would be a good thing. I'd like full figures if they were particular individuals, or as said, the Vietnamese (both sides). If those are done right, then we'd get some bodies of the proper size, and not as beefy as modern bodies seem to run. Early SF stuff would definitely rock, tho the desire at the moment is for specops guys of the war.

Regarding some side ideas:
-Grunts would be awesome and I'd personally love to see a 4th Infantry or a 101st trooper "Hamburger Hill"-style. I know I said only SF, but I figured people would want a grunt so I stuck it there "because."
-Early War SF would be a lot of fun - especially if you give him an early AR-15 or an M2. Beo-gams and a mountaineering ruck would be must haves. Not sure about demand, but he'd be a striking figure. If there were anyone I could base him off of, it'd be Billy Wagh.

I don't suppose anyone tracks eBay auctions? Specifically 21C ones?
