Ohh, thats pretty easy: the 1996 Action Man Moon Mission was my frist ever 1/6 scale figure I bought and owned. I had him for awhile but I think I lost it, then my friend gave me his as a gift awhile back and now I sold it when I had money issues. Still have my action Man in the pilot Uniform and the Kitbash I did when I got back into collecting.

When I got back into the hobby a few years ago, the figure I bought was the Dragon 101st Airborne Iraq War called "Josh". Still have it on my shelf here together with all the other figs.

SAS action man, followed by original SAS commando 3/4 Action Force (UK GI JOE), then first 1/6 plunge was either bbi Barret or bbi Delta Force. Cost me a fortune since!!!

1965 - Hasbro GI Joe Action Soldier. Had to wait several weeks until my birthday before he had a rifle, equipment, etc. He spent those weeks in basic training.

Most favorite Hasbro GI Joe is the 1966 Green Beret.

And now all my figures are Vietnam SF/SOG.

Regards

Jack

There was a very early (1970's) Tarzan figure with a punch action that came as a set with a large gorilla that had a squeeze action, otherwise is was Action Man all through my childhood.

Geeze, talk about memory lane here! OK well, from the very start which is when I was little and didn't know much about 12 inch figures then back in the 80s, My first one was a blonde Caucasian Barbie with jeans My Mom & Grandma bought Me at Target. I remember that they asked Me why I wanted her and being a little boy I really wasn't sure, I just liked her (well, today I love 1:6 women!, LOL,). Not 12' but My Grandma got Me those retro Vietnam guys at Walgreens back then too, not sure what their names are and if that counts.

OK, in the earlier 90s when I was older and started to know more about the 12 inchers My Mom got Me at Venture Department Store 12" G.I. Joes of Destro, Gungho, & Grunt and then My Grandma got Me that send away 12" G.I. Joe in green (don't remember his name right now at the moment) not to long after that then a few years later My Grandparents got Me those deluxe talking Darth Vader & Darth Maul figures.

Much years later in 2001 when 1:6 started to really kick off I got Sideshow's Universal Monsters Larry Talbot & Murder Legendre and EVER since then I have been collecting 1:6 scale figures!!!!!

Mine was the GI Joe Action Soldier, Action Marine, Action Sailor, and Action Pilot and assorted accessory sets that I received in 1964 as presents during Channukah. One of the great things about being a Jewish kid is that we'd receive presents each night of Channukah, which lasted 8 days. My brothers and I used to pull in incredible hauls each Channukah thanks to the generosity of our parents and grandparents. It makes for some nice memories now that other than my mom, they're all gone. I remember my dad getting down on the floor in the evening during Channukah with my middle brother (who was 2 years younger than me-- I'm the oldest of 3) and I making "set-ups" with our toy soldiers, tanks, artillery, aircraft, GI Joes, and of course Lincoln Log fortifications and than proceed to bomb the hell out of our troops with the little Lincoln Log left over pieces used as missiles and shells. We often don't appreciate our youth until it's long gone

My first figure was DML's "Moondog" F-117 Pilot, that came in a set with DML "Winona" Sniper, I still have those, thou they are very basic, I didn't kept purchasing them because I didn't liked them 100%.

I all really went to hell when I bought my HT ERT W/G36. That's when I noticed that the figure actually looked life like, and all went downhill from there.

Overall I'm quite new to the hobby but thankfully I came aboard in a time when quality is a given on most figures.

Well like s-o-o-o many of you mine was a '67 (I think) PH Foreign head GI Joe RCMP, the Sears Exclusive! Still one of my favorites! After Him came the Adventure Team, Marx Best of the West/Knights, Major Matt Mason, Mattel's Man in Space, Ending with Big Jim, and Billy Blast Off! All of which where given back to me about 22 years ago(when Mom and Dad sold the house), and the saga continues...

:wink To be honest I'm not sure I remember what my very first action figure was??? - Too young I guess.

But my first memories of one are of a 12" GI Joe or possibly 12" Action Man.

Survivors you ask???
Hell no, as a kid I was very hard on my action figures :knock and they all would eventually get the dreaded 'Floppy Limb Syndrome' and end up being used for :doh target practice, etc. - RIP little buddies.

I did have some of their big vehicles in storage in the garage back at my folks house but they all just disappeared after my parents had a 'Garage Sale'.
I never noticed they were even missing until years afterwards.
(Now I don't even want think about how cheaply they would have been sold for.)

otaku 1.0!
would you believe it is still in one piece? haha actually i have repaired it once. i had to dremel out the arm socket at the bi-cep and epoxy a "yellow submarine" ball joint and it worked!!

Mine would of had to of been some biker man figure, I was doing some shopping for food and came accross it, thought about it..but no. Then came accross it later and basically shoved it in..and it was all down hill from there heheh. Tah

My OSW Avatar is first 12" action figure, a 1975 Gi-Joe Adventure Team Land Adventurer from a blister pack. He had flocked hair and came with only a pair of camo shorts. He went diving in my tub too many times and his rubber bands rotted til his limbs fell off. He lost most of his flocked hair. Now 35 years later I put his bald head on a complete body of one of my other classic Joes and zombified him.
