Years ago i was thinking of using the Brennan head for a shouting Capt. Miller (Saving Private Ryan) bash.

Ah yes, Joe Brennan, one of BBI's last figures, and came with some awesome kit, and 2 versions in desert tiger Stripes, and the first figure that had Multicam as a lisenced advertising portion on the box. The more exclusive version came with the full Multicam uniform. I love that figure.
Body as noted above, G3.5. There was also a cheap knock off of this head with brown hair and crappier paint apps as well, available in some of the Hong Kong stores on Ebay and online. I bet there are some still kicking around. The one with the red hair is more like the original.
That head is of an actual person, and he was a member here for a while(not sure if he has been on recently). If you look for the original post of that figure, you will see there was some input about it, and some was less than enthusiastic. There was some apologizing made because the individual chimed in, and some folks were called on the unkind comments about the individuals' appearance.

I remember.
I recollect commenting the same without realizing at the time it was based on the member and I apologized to the member in question.
In retrospect, I applaud the attempt on the figure; however, the execution was very lacking.

My plan is to have a good painter repaint it to see if it can be brought up to today's standards of realism. I think the sculpt has a lot of potential. Since open mouth expressive sculpts like this one are less common I think it's worth a shot.
When you do get them to paint it, they have to be very careful with the neck, if they paint it and go wrong, stripping the paint could damage the neck. I completely wrecked one when stripping paint off it. There's something odd about some early BBI plastic, it can go very brittle over time.

I have that same head in my collection. The HS could really use a repaint that's for sure. I would recommend you pulling the head off the neck post. As Rogerbee said; the plastic is SUPER Brittle if you any paint remover like Acetone. It will just simple eat away that plastic of the neck post.

The repainted head. BTW, the one I have here is actually one of those cheap Chinese Clone heads you can fine a eBay. I really need to redo the eyes one day.. >_>

Yep. Acetone, Q-Tip and Cotton Balls.
That should work well with a good repaint. :thumb
