So the Ghost Recon figure is actually going to be made. Is there a release date?
I can't wait to buy that Ghost Recon set-- in 2037!!!

Merit's head honcho told me between August-October '08. Very nice guy, can't remember his name though.
From what I was told, there were some problems with factories in China, and literally had to fight to get the prototypes back.

This seems to be a recurring theme...
It seems a lot of folks - even those educated and experienced enough to "think" they know a lot about the toy industry - don't really understand what goes into having a figure made in a factory in China...and now that China has experienced some massive damage due to mother nature, there's even more issues with getting things made on time. Throw on top of that new China labor laws regarding hours that can and can't be worked and the production time for a toy slows considerably...

I know there's been a lot of back and forth regarding specific companies following through on production, but you'd be stupid to think a company would show a figure prototype (which essentially means they've spent the money designing and planning the figure) and then the company NOT wanting to get it made and sell it to fans - and obviously the sooner the better as buzz begins as soon as the product is shown...

That said, as cree82 mentioned above, Tony Chin of Merit said this fall the Ghost Recon set should be released. If this will actually happen is still TBD...

(Heck, I'm still waiting to get my Medicom Raiden Metal Gears Solid 4 RAH figure I first saw at Toy Fair 2007 and it'd been delayed 5 going on 6 times now...)

heck, alot of people are still waiting for Dragon's Grace Mack and the Hummer.
Your pics are soooo much better than mine. I don't feel so bad about not posting any yet.

I was told the same also. Especially concerning the Crye Armoured Chassis. Something along the lines of the prototype almost being held hostage. That was straight from the reps' mouth, not my opinion. Tough place to do business in 1/6.
I really hope everything will be ok and the GR figure would be released.. been a huge fan of the game.. Thanks for the coverage once again :)

Well for us less enlightend folks...we know that we see promises from some companies, but little delivery. Doesn't take an "expert" to see that.

The comment was not meant as a jab at anyone, I was only saying it as it seems there are a lot of folks on the internet who feel like just because a figure is shown in prototype form or it's even commented about or talked about online, it's going to get made. That's simply not true.

I personally don't know anything about any "promises" from any toy companies made to anyone, but I do know most toy companies do their best to deliver as it only means they'll make more money and make more people happy. I'm sure - as you know - if they don't or if they fail to live up to their word, they have people who are angry (as it seems you are grizzerr).

Again, the comment wasn't personal and sorry if it offended anyone.
And sometimes prototypes are made to see if interest is going to be generated or nat before a commitment is actually made.

Can someone please help identify the differences between the very first pic Exclusive Samurai AWOH Special Edition (200 pieces) and the regular Swordsman they previously released? I see the sculpt is different and the outfit may be a different color. Does anyone know for sure what else? I'm interested in these and can't find any other pics of the Exclusive Samurai AWOH Special Edition (200 pieces). Thanks in advance.
Excellent news with those GRAW accessories! Jess, thanks for sharing!

Yeah, Tony said the same thing last year-- 'cept he meant Aug-Oct of 07'.

Honestly guys, I know we'd all love to have this stuff-- but if any of it actually comes out, consider it a blessing. Otherwise, just assume you'll NEVER see it.

You can only "cry wolf" so many times, y'know...?
