VICTORY IN EUROPE

The war is over.

I cannot begin to fathom the overwhelming joy and immense relief that came for millions hearing those words. The greatest conflict the world has ever known came to an end 73 years ago today. We today will never taste a sweeter drink nor smoke a better cigarette than this staff sergeant, right now, at the business end of the Allied advance, upon hearing those four words.

CHEERS!

Happy V-E Day!

A great little scene you've made! I have to say I really love the infantryman too, its great that you've keep the gear and uniform to a minimum.

Great figure Fred. Definitely captures the feel of the big day. Love the liberated pistol and holster. Awesome array of crates too.

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

Much appreciated!

Josh - glad you're back in the fight (online)!

Two more photos:

1. My table at my club's meeting this month, assembling this guy:

He took the entirety of the meeting to get kitted up...

2. This awesome after-the-fact reference photo I found on Pinterest:

Members of the 7th Infantry, 3rd ID, enjoying what was undoubtedly the best drink of their lives in Berchtesgaden near the end of the war.

Thanks again for the compliments!
