I was so happy to get the Hot Toys Marine Operation Iraqi Freedom figure finally. Sir Eaton Flipflop came through for me in a trade and I got my hands on him last week.

I wanted to put my own signature on the figure, so I swapped out the H/S for a DML one, which I repainted using acrylics and pastels. The figure comes lightly weathered out of the box, but I added a bit more dust and dirt to match the base I made.

This is only my second modern figure, so I appreciate comments/criticism so I can do a better job next time.

that is one nice marine, hs is perfect and the base is a nice touch. Great job!

WOW...looks GREAT....Is that a DML Body aswell???? I really like that OVERSIZED MOPP/NBC suit....this adds alot of realism to it!!!!

Thanks, folks. Only the head is DML, which I placed on the Hot Toys body. Thanks again!

I think this is one of those figures like SBS in Qalai-jangi, USMC in Fallujah etc. that will be bash again and again by many... but I believe yours is close to perfection... I cannot think of anything else I will wanna add to it... Great job! And on the base too! :clap:clap:clap

That is one fine looking MARINE!!! Especially almost out-of-box, not many people I have seen could pull it off like you. I have to admit, I haven't done any figures straight from the box without adding a few things here and there!!! The HS is a nice touch, aswell as your choice of gear placement. OUTSTANDING JOB on this one!!! :thumb

Thanks to everyone! The rifle is the one that came with the figure; I think it's a M40A3.

Good eye! Indeed it is a wall tile (actually 2 tiles, glued together) from my favorite Home Improvement store. It even comes "distressed" like you see in the photo's. The best part is, it cost about .80 cents!
