GabRaz,

The M16A4 is from DML USMC Force Recon, on Basra's Outskirts, Iraqi Freedom, Walt (DR# 70266) (2003) box figure set. Monkey Depot or Echo Base Toys still have a few. I added a BBi AN/PEQ-2 and Surefire Universal, M951 weapons light; and the DML ACOG scope, Knights Armament foregrip, and Colt iron sight from one of their carded sets. On the foregrip I glued the related switches to the foregrip and then added a little OD tape. The Marines have not gone to the M4. To quaify in the USMC it must be done at 800 meters, the M4 is about 300 to 400 meters. Only special units used M4. The MSPF as a whole still use the M16. Hope That helps!

This is a good bit of info. Thanks for this. BTW, is MSPF not considered as a special force unit within the Marines? Also, is the M16A3 not in as widespread use as the M16A4?

Sorry to burst your bubble here my friend but I enlisted in the Marine Corps in May 2003 and when I reached the fleet the M4 and M16A4 were both being fielded. And rifle qualification is done at 500 yards which is equal to 457.2 meters
