Hi all,

In the midst of finishing up a couple of commission builds I have found time to get a little work done on some personal projects. I present you with yet another shotgun ... This time around it is a Remington Model 870 Special Purpose Marine Magnum with a nickel finish.

This build began as one of the shotguns which came with the VTS Zombie Killer figure (Woody Harrelson's "Tallahassee" character from Zombieland) - see PIC #1.

After removing the pistol grip, I replaced it with a full stock left over from the Dr Figures RX4 rifle. The grip of the stock had to be shaved down and sanded quite a bit to fit the narrower shotgun receiver, though otherwise was a great fit. I still need to add some detail paintwork here and there, and give her a couple of pin washes to bring out the engraved detail on the receiver. I also need to add a rear rifle sight to the barrel and I am debating extending the magazine tube.

As always, your thoughts / comments / suggestions are welcomed. Cheers!

Another beauty!
Nice work.
Looks great!
Wow, wicked work, that looks great!
very nice
Very nice! I like your version much better!
I like the DAM/VTS Remington. Nice etching on the receiver.

Slick looking nickle plated beauty there :thumb
Thanks for all of the kind words fellas! I have had the idea to build this beauty for a while now to add a little variety and a little BLING! to the other 870s in my collection.

While the Marine Magnums typically come with the extended mag tube, I kind of like the look of her as she is without it. It adds a little more variation to the collection in which most of the others have extended tubes (I may change my mind on this yet though) ... Now I just need to figure out how I am going to scratch-build a rear sight for her.

Wow. That looks a million times better than the orginal but still looks like its from a factory. Great job.
Excellent!!
Wow that is awesome the shotgun is beautiful great work cant believe how better that full stock looks over the pistol grip.
Thanks fellas!

I think you should go ahead and extend the magazine tube.
Thanks for the feedback Luke, although to be honest, I am still undecided on this. While I know the extended tube would look good, I am leaning towards not adding it. I have a number of shotties in the collection now, most of which have extended tubes. I kinda like the idea of this one being a little different (not that it isn't already significantly different with that colour scheme!)
