No offense to the GITS movie fans (both of you) but I really wish ThreeZero would focus on getting things through production on their existing licenses. The delay between announcement and release is indefensible with these guys. They have Game of Thrones and they've managed to get out what, four? Walking Dead, really, one? Two of the killer, most desirable franchises and the trickle is reeeeeediculous. ThreeZero is like the George R.R. Martin of 1/6 manufacturers. So then this. Wow, Hot Toys, buy these guys. PLEASE.

The movie was aestheticaly beautiful but lacked the depth GitS deserved. Could be a nice figure, though. But I agree with the above post. Get those game of thrones figures out already...

I know this movie didn't do well, and it's unfortunate. I've been a big fan of Masamune Shirow's work since the 80s, and have all his Manga and Anime, and even some art books. I can understand the complaints against the film for its lack of depth, but seriously, how much could they possibly do in the time span that they had -- the freaking thing would have been 4 hours if they had really gone into it. I did like how some of the shots mimicked the anime. My biggest gripe was them casting ScarJo as an Asian character, and not having her even LOOK Asian. But, I guess they thought they better cast a big name to draw crowds. Anyway....

I think the head sculpt on this looks great. Certainly better then that crack-wh$%e looking piece of crap by Weta. I hope underneath all that armor they make the body look like this:

It would be cool to get a trench coat and recreate that scene.

I don't know, can't say anything definite based off just this shot, but I'm rather more fond of the generic Cat Toys' Motoko head. Curious to see the extent of the outfit on this.

I finally got around to watching the movie on Netflix, and I enjoyed it. Probably helps that I was never a fan of the original manga (always hated that style of drawing). I am a pretty big fan of futuristic dystopia's with major betrayals going on, whether it's movies like The Matrix or books like Neuromancer. So, having seen and liked the movie, and ScarJo in the part, I put my money down on a pre-order of this figure, plus the Cat Toys version. It seems three zero has the better gear, while Cat Toys has the better HS. We shall see which lives up to their price-point when (or if?) they arrive. I ordered the deluxe version from threezero, which comes with the bomber jacket and street clothes for only $20 more. Can't beat that deal.

The picture isn't showing for me. "Photo not found". Even if I click on it, it gets me to a photobucket page asking to check the link.
