This figure represents an Alpini on the Eastern Front. He is on a forced march, after the disastrous battle of the Don front in December 1942/Jan. 1943.

He is issued windproof parka and pants, inadequate for the Russian winter, but offering greater protection than the ordinary soldier had.

I based this figure on a color plate from an Osprey book, which I have included.

Medicom body, Barrack Sgt. head, GI joe gloves (repainted), DID parka (repainted from original camo to grey), TT boots, rifle and gear.

Thanks for looking.
