T17 Staghound
Inns of Court Regiment "Devil's Own"
HQ Company
Attached to 11th Armored Division
Normandy, June 1944

This is a Mardon Callanta model. Added some details, paint, weathering and some details as usual. Markings were added using stencils and John's Stuff decals. Tools and tow cable from Armorpax. British jerry can from Field of Armor, Bundles and tarps made from scraps of cloth. 30Cal machine gun is from Dragon on the inaccurate gun cradle that I modified a bit.
After taking the images I realized that in carrying the vehicle out to the yard, I shoved the towing cable a good inch and a half higher than it where is supposed to go! When in the correct place it does not block the visors! I'll do better next time around. The crew is still a long way off, but when I get it done, probably with some other 11th AD troops, it will go out on the yard for more images!
Took a while to determine what unit to use. Decided on this unit, one I had not heard from before. The Inns of Court Regiment was organic to the Fist Corp but was attached through most of the actions in Normandy to the 11th Armored Division, as its armored car regiment.

Great work on this one. I look forward to seeing the crew.

The Inns of Court Regiment had a very distinguished record in North West Europe during WW2.

As an anecdote, officers of the regiment wore a particular embroidered cap badge on their black beret, totally different design from the Other Ranks'. I could not find a good picture on the web, but I will try to check on my files at home.

I've always liked armored cars, vulnerable tho they might be, and the Staghound was a very fine looking vehicle. Yours is so well turned out, and could easily pass for real.
