SST Snake Eys and Cobra Commander at SDCC

Apologies if anyone has already posted anything to this effect, but Cool Toy Review has some clear, full-body pictures of the figures from the convention.

CC's choice of accessories is interesting, to say the least...

Dunno about anyone else but I **LOVE** this CC! I was just content with getting Snake Eyes and the eventual Storm Shadow but it seems like I'll have to add this CC to my collection too!

Not bad looking at all. Funny enough, I did the long leather coat on my bashed version too.

So far, these two figures have looked really nice. I'll probably skip them because of price but I do like what I see.

I dunno about either of these. I really thought they were going to do some iconic RAH Joes, but these both look like kitbashes. Now there's nothing wrong with kit bashes at all, but if you're selling me Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander for $100+ each, I would hope they're faithful to source material. I'm just not feeling them really.

They're not bad, but I just don't feel like they should be putting out these variants without starting off with a more definitive version first.

I'm still not crazy about the price but IMO that Cobra Commander is awesome! I thought I would only be getting the Snake Eyes and possibly Storm Shadow(which I'm sure they will do)but I hope I have the money to get this CC figure.

Lol only two short description paragraphs, but potential for 3 more figures right there...

I'm not sure why, but why would they decide to do CC with a moulded mask? I kind of undestand faceless SE (though don't really approve it), but not a moulded CC mask...

I mocked the cartoon when it posted earlier this week... But I have to admit. That Cobra Commander Is WAY-OUT! Supa cool Leather piece with cain. Uniform is tight too.. If its available at a reasonable price I gotto get it...

I'm really not impressed by these. I think Sideshow is way behind the curve with their figures. With all the choices on the market right now, I think you could bash much better figures for the same price.

Actually, it looks almost exactly like a 1936-pattern SS officer's dagger, minus the sig-runen and with the Cobra sigil (of course) replacing the eagle-and-swastika emblem on the grip. Someone at Sideshow has obviously done their research on the trappings of dictatorial madmen...

I was about to correct myself and say it was based on the SS dagger, but you got to it first.
But yeah, totally evil in that sense.

I have many many many fond memories of my childhood playing GI Joe with my two brothers and neighborhood kids, but I was a bit prelaxed and skidish when SSDCC announced that they acquired the GI Joe toy line. Now with looking at the first two offerings I have to say that they're pretty well done, however I agree with many of those above that the offerings appear to be 'kitbashed' figures with some new added pieces. The best Snake-Eyes and CC that I've seen here, IMHO, was the WWII verison and the current CCs and maybe SSDCC used some of the bashes here as reference materials. Come on, some of the work here has to make the big boys' eyes pop out of their sockets when they see 'em and say 'why didn't we think of that?'

I'll probably still wait on these for I'm sure I could probably pick them up on Evil Bay for 15-20% off MRP.

For CC they are saying the regular figure comes with his trademark gun but the sword cane is the Sideshow exlcusive.

Other than Gung Ho for obvious reasons these figures dont really interest me
unless seeing them in person changes my mind

Ditto that. And one of the other boards said something about a second version with tattoos on his arms and an "ugly" reveal noggin. I'm thinking of cancelling my PO.

Could Sideshow maybe add some padding to go under Snake-Eyes shirt too make him look a little less scrawny?

I read that also that there might be a second version with removable mask and skin tone body with tattoos. Seems like a slap in the face those of who preordered the first figure that they are already saying they will probably make a new better version. I preordered both figures and at least the Cobra Commander(which I think looks way better than the SE) is 20$ cheaper.
