The Billings (Montana) Gazette has a nice recount of the Doolittle Raid, from Dave Thatcher, who was featured pretty prominently in "Thirty Seconds over Tokyo".

The operation was a classic example of unconventional warfare, and the aircrews were truly brave men. The physical damage was limited, but it was a great boost to the spirit for a nation that was struggling to stop a relentless foe. Mr Thatcher has sacrificed a great deal for his country.
