Princess Leia is by far my favorite character in the Star Wars series (although Han is a close second). I saw the movie in the theater when I was 7 (don't do the math...please) and I had a crush on her since. Of all of her outfits, this is probably the one that she is identified with most (except for all the wanking geeks out there...but we wont go there). When I saw that Sideshow was going to do this one, I couldn't wait. So I get home and I have the package waiting for me. And I was not disappointed.

I was trying to get a picture of her belt, but I feel this is a pretty good shot. I actually kind of like the lighting I have. Anyways, to me this sculpt is alot closer than the Boussh version. My only problem with the sculpt is that one of her eyes seems off.

Another shot of her.

A close up of her head. It seems pretty close to Carrie Fisher except the one eye seems to be off.

A profile.

The other side. I think I like this view of her better.

More shots....

An overall shot of her. For the most part she looks pretty good. The fabric on the dress seems billowy like the one she wore in a New Hope. My only complaint is that it seems to be coming loose around the collar but as she's not going to get hard play, that shouldn't be much of a problem.

Her shoes. They are molded and for some reason they almost look like they are both the same side but if you look at the bottom, they are not. They seem a little too dirty though.

The Stormtrooper Blaster. A very nice piece. I hope this is not a one shot mold and that we see a Stormtrooper from Sideshow at some point.

And her sporting blaster. Again, a nice piece.

"Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?"

The pros:
The sculpt is much closer to Carrie Fisher's than their first one.
Overall the fabric is light and billowy enough to resemble the dress from the movie.
Both pistols are nice.

The cons:
The fabric is light and I have a slight tear around the neck.
The shoes seem bulky and are shaped in a way that they almost look like the same side.

I wont call her the best of the Star Wars line to date, as I think that title belongs to the Obiwan, but she is damn close. It seems that Sideshow is taking the advice from the boards and improving these figures as they go along. Given the look of the Luke and the Old Obiwan coming up, I can't wait. With the improved Harrison sculpt for Indy, I hope that a New Hope version of Han is on the way.

However, what I'd really like to see in the future is a Chewbacca. Hasbro never quite got him right and so I never got a 12" version of him (although I suppose he'd be closer to 13 or 14").

Thanks for the review and pics. I have to say, though, I'm kinda glad I didn't pre-order her. If I can find a good deal on Ebay maybe I'll buy one.

I am looking forward to Episode IV Obi-Wan, though.

Yeah...I guess you really gotta be a fan of Carrie Fisher, because that head is clearly out of scale. :(

Not a half bad likeness (Sideshow can be very hit or miss), but to my eyes her buns on her head actually over-extend over her shoulders =O

Just like the old Sideshow days.

Goooood LORD!!

Sideshow get a female figure right! Hang out the banners boys, SS have finally got the message that we want figures as good as the prototypes or we ain't playin'.

They really pulled off 'Double Danish Head' and I hope they do an Empire one as this was my favourite look.

Nice going
