Is that Omaha beach? So are we gonna see Wolvie use his claws on some poor German soldiers? I stopped collecting comics before the origins stuff so I had no idea he was a soldier in WWII. This just makes the movie more exciting to me!

Awsome!!!!! Logan is going to shred some Nazi's! I can picture it..... Normandy 1944... A squad of engineers must break through the wall. They are pinned. Out of nowhere a GI rushes towards the bunker in a hell of bullets... The man should be dead but he lives?... Amazingly he past through the fire and enters the back door with a grenade and Colt 45... No knows how he did it but he knocked out a bunker and its MG crew. 25 or 30 men where in their how can he take them all out?... He comes out with blood in his hands.

Logan taking on a German unit after he gets lost in Italy during WW2 was one of my favourite comic moments when I was a kid.

The above image has made my heart stop!

I thought he was a Canadian Commando in WW2?

I had been reading up on Wolverine a bit for the past couple of days because I was procrastinating on my studying for the Bar exam :p. Here is an interesting link to "Logan"'s history:
James Howlett - Marvel Database

Jester - thanks for posting that picture! This movie should be awesome...

Logan has been around a long time, at least as far back as the Civil War. I have seen a couple of stories of Captain America and Logan set in WWII (in the Cpt. America series "Fallen Son" Logan is hell bent on getting revenge for the murder of his buddy Captain America). He shouldn't have any claws at this point - Fast, strong, agile, regeneration, heightened senses and VIOLENT as all get out but no claws. He didn't get claws (and adamantium skeleton) until the Weapon X program :nerd

He had the claws from birth, they were just bone, back when he was known as James Howlett.

The continuity is getting all messed up now though, it's a headache.

wolverine and cap were commando buddies, Also back then sabertooth worked along with them in WWII believe it or not. I read it back in 1991 when jim lee was cranking it with Uncanny Xmen, But yeah seeing him in a seen from WWII is gonna be sweet. Hope the writers nailed for the story pretty well cause if they do not they are gonna get tomatoes thrown at them!!!

Kuroi - I stopped following the story-lines back in the late 80's. I guess I'm a bit out of the loop. I thought the whole bone claw thing had to do with Magnito stripping all the adamantium (sounds like a Brit-Pop group from the 80's) out of him... Then later his mutant healing power grew him a new set from bone

As far as Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool - He's the perfect wise ass for the part, and after blade 3 I think he can do the physical stuff... So as long as we don't have to see his pretty face.

So, with all the walk ins in the new Super-hero films do you think we might see Cap in WWII setting? Or do you think they are going to limit the walk ins to the Avengers team members?

If they did it right, it would be awesome, but I'm getting worried that the whole thing might be getting oversaturated with fanboy moments to the point where it doesn't even matter who they put in there mate.

As for the whole claw thing, Christ man, I'm reading Wolverine - Origins at the minute and ended up binning the thing because it's so screwy.
