New Update with DAM goodies.

The designated marksman's role is to supply rapid accurate fire for ranges of 100-500 meters.
The DM's standard weapon platform is an assault rifle that has been fitted with scopes, bipod, cheek pieces, special sights, and other features which improve the accuracy of the weapon and the ergonomics for the shooter. Often, they are also rechambered in order to enhance the accuracy, leathality, and range of the weapon.
Unlike regular snipers DMs are mobile and rapidly change positions.

My version of a Russian Spetsnaz DM in Georgia.
But when I look at it now it looks more like Chechen special forces with a pilfered Georgian uni top.
Any way its another wip to add to the many that I started:knock
Like always additions and changes will be made as I progress.
Don't mind the leggings, it needs more improvements and adjustments.
Rifle needs more work too.
For now this is how it looks...

Nice and simple, just right
Looking good AM1.
I rewally like him. I suspect more likely to be Georgian DM wearing that MARPAT though.
Another WIP? Dude, your workbench must look like a illegal gathering at this point. Nice addition to the crowd. ;)
Nice one AMO! :D What did you use for pouches by the way?

88Reaper88 thanks

KMok15, Leo, uramegak :thanks

Thanks grizzerr, with all the uni combos that they use, this bash could easily pass for any of the forces involved in the conflict.

Laurie thanks man, all those wips are definitely crowding up the place. I guess I really have to start finishing a bash before I post them next time :wink

Yujin thanks man, the OD green pouches are from a TUS Alice Pack, cut to shape and alice clips added at the back so it can thread thru a TS belt with a DML buckle.
Harness is from Armoury Modern German Para, elastic straps replaced with webbing material, and padding added to the shoulder area.

Here's a few pics of the web gear...

Thanks Tatuued1.:)

A little break from the British projects to update this wip.:wink
I was trying to find that TUS Russian Para jump suit but those things are extremely hard to find, only other jump suit that looked OK was the DML WW2 Russian suit.
A quick uni change, some adjustments to the bandana, an additional canteen to the web gear, and now it looks more like a Russian now compared to my original bash wip.:)

Great work on the change up Al. He does indeed look better.
Re: Russian Spetsnaz Designated Marksman wip...(update 2/13/09)

I like it. The only issue I see so far is accuracy of the rifle. Usually, Russian units use a SVD as a DMR. However, Spetsnaz (and presumably nowadays) they COULD use a regular AK and a scope. An AS VAL or VSS Vintorez would make this bash through the roof, though.

very awesome
Re: Russian Spetsnaz Designated Marksman wip...(update 2/13/09)

very very nice. the first could be his Georgian counterpart.
Re: Russian Spetsnaz Designated Marksman wip...(update 2/13/09)

Excellent. Reminds me of some pics I have seen of Spetsnatz in Afghanistan in early 80's.
Re: Russian Spetsnaz Designated Marksman wip...(update 2/13/09)

Both versions are great! I think your solution for the ammo pouches is especially clever.
Re: Russian Spetsnaz Designated Marksman wip...(update 2/13/09)

I like both versions. The first one looks more "special ops" though. Could be due to the mish-mash outfit, as opposed to the more regular looking second one. But both are great! :thumb :thumb

Great update, man!
Re: Russian Spetsnaz Designated Marksman wip...(update 2/13/09)

I really like the update with the new unifrom. Looks far more Russian. Agree with a DM rifle being an SVD but that 74 with scope is plausible. REally liking your web gear. Great job.
