See subject.

While we're all in the 1:6 hobby, one of the creators of the original 12" (1:6) GI JOE action figures Don Levine passed away today.

This year was the 50th Anniversary of GI JOE and we're starting the Memorial Day weekend.

Though some of us may not necessarily collect classic/vintage 12" GI JOE figures and the ones that came after (i.e. Adventure Team, Classic Collection, etc.), GI JOE initially set the standard that others have followed and built upon in our particular hobby.

Rest in peace Mr. Levine. All of us who collect & enjoy 1:6 owe you appreciation and thanks with regards to our hobby.

He is one of the progenitors of what we do. Quite a legacy, I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

:( It is he who is often cited as "the father of G.I. Joe"........his creation coined the term "action figure".....

R.I.P. Mr. Levine......and thank you......

I have to say thank you.

His creation has taken me to places I'll never see except in my imagination and given me a trophy case of memories.
