Finally present to you my project that was the most lengthy of 2007.

And of course one of the most interesting.

BOPE (Police Special Operations Battalion) is the elite troops of the metropolitan police of Rio de Janeiro /Brazil. It's like a SWAT American.

But let's stop chat and show the figure.

The photos are not good. I will try again during the day, with natural light to see if you improve the contrasts. What is difficult, because the figure uses all the black pieces.

Nice beret and customised patches... I watched the movie "Cidade de Deus' and became quite interested in BOPE, here's my early BOPE bash... http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66609, but the guys over at escala1sexto said I used the wrong ref pics cos BOPE only wear black... Anyway, I plan to do another BOPE in black, just like urs... but have yet to locate a black beret... I'm trying to look for the VCD of the movie 'Tropa de Elite' too...

Friend the film City of God is happening in the years 70 and the early 80. And in no time portraying the BOPE.
The film Tropa de Elite portrays the day by day of the BOPE in the year 1997. Shortly before the arrival of Pope John Paul II to Rio de Janeiro.
It is a great movie to use as reference.
My figure is based on the character of the film Renam.
We knew that his figure and I was very impressed when I looked.
I very much also the villain.
Detail is that the first picture of reference is not the Rio police.
Soldiers of the BOPE always use black and black berets also almost always is used. They are the rare occasions when they use helmets.

Yep... thanx for clarifying... I meant I was inspired by the great movie City of God to read more about Brazil's favelas, and that was how I learnt abt BOPE... :thumb I hope I can find the movie Tropa de Elite in the shops soon, but I've never heard of the film Renam... Cos I live in Southeast Asia, and stuffs about South America are relatively obscure... :X There is a Brazilian visitor to my church recently, but I dun think it's polite to ask him about favelas & BOPE during Sunday service! :lol
