i would like to introduce my first work. I hope, you like it. The diorama shows two members of the 352. Infanteriedivision (Wehrmacht, Feldwebel and NCO-Aspirant). The unit fought on omaha beach to falais, thereafter they was completly destroyed. (My english is quite bad, therefor i prefer the short speech.) Merry Christmas from Germany!
Re: "Retreat from St. Lô" 352. Infanteriedivision THIS FORUM IS A BUGMACHINE
all you have to do is using a filehoster and post a link ( ich habe dafür imgur genutzt, einfach bild hochladen und dann den link bei BBcode auswählen und hier reinkopieren)
I can't help there, Miguel. Still working for me, now. [edit] - see Adam's reply below - #14

Ferdinand, if you left click with your mouse, on the image in your picture folder, you can click on "Copy Image Location". I just copied and pasted them all to a notepad. Then I pasted
behind each.
Example:
It works until the site gets sorted out, with the new image options.

muzzer, if you click on that stretched out "image", it will open a real picture. Again, another burp in the new system.....I hope.
I've just had a quick look and test of the various image upload functions. The current setup either allows you to either post as an attachment via a local upload, or the source from an external url. There are two options provided, the "paperclip" attachment function or the "insert image" function. I recommend the "insert image" option as the more basic file uploader there works a bit more reliably.
File attachments test fine, albeit with some quirks with the upload manager that appears when you use the paperclip attach function vs the insert image function as mentioned above. In this case I suspect the OP's attachments may be failing due to the foreign accented character "ô" in the "St. Lô" 352" post topic. It doesn't appear like the current vbulletin install on the server has added any of the language packs (other than default english), so the (German I assume) character gets interpreted as ô. The file attachment code gets generated as src="http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/attachments/sixth-scale-action-figure-news-reviews-and-discussion-/370491d1481832020-retreat-st-lô-352-infanteriedivision-diorama-ende-3-050-jpg. As you can see vbulletin generates a call that references the original posting topic along with the filename and accordingly brings along the ô character. Due to the lack of extended language support this causes a database error when that lookup is made as the database can't interpret that character as it is essentially non-existent.
When the image source format is used
you can see the only references are to the file (identified by its attachment ID# that is linked to the file name) rather than the topic and the images are retrieved without error. However because the image source referenced in this case is internal to onesixthwarriors (references a file previously uploaded to osw's server via the attachment function), the user must be logged in first to have the necessary file permissions to view the file as it is a workaround to retrieve the file.
The from an external url option seems to be working fine, and you can either keep it as an external url source (ie website link, photo sharing services etc) or "retrieve remote file and reference locally" which will convert it to an attachment. The latter option may not be preferred as attachments suffer from the resizing bug with the current attachment viewer. If you keep the image source as an external format, it will appear as a full sized image in the thread (versus an attachment thumbnail) for logged in or not logged in users (as long as the file isn't hosted on the OSW server). The only downside to this is you may want to link to resized photos if referencing higher resolution images.
Basically everything is working as it should, the only issues being the lack of support for foreign language specific characters and the resizing bug on the image viewer.

This is beautiful work (sorry about the picture aggravations along the way). There's a lot I like about it, but I'm going to single out one detail not to take for granted. Typically when you see 1/6 debris it's really hard to make it come out quite right -- the "break lines" seem offscale, textures are off, the scatter pattern doesn't seem quite real or natural, etc. This base however is just perfect and I think a lot of work must have gone into every little detail of it.
Amazing work, I like the attention to detail that you have put into these two figures. I am especially impressed with the late-war "presstoff" entrenching tool cover! All around, a couple of great figures, and the base is a work of art as well.........Jim
Well now that is one impressive work. The figures are really well done and base it's self is a stand alone work of art.
