Ever since "Full Metal Jacket" was released in 1987, R. Lee Ermey has been the quintessential military hard-ass in movies and on TV. Anyone that has ever watched his TV shows "Mail Call" or "Lock n' Load with R. Lee Ermey" will also know that he was a great guy and super talented. He will be sorely missed by his fans. RIP 'Gunny'.

I was sad to hear the news.
A good actor. A good Marine. A great American.
Saw him at a Historical Event once. His personal car was adorned with EGAs.
He would have been great to see in one of the "Expendables" movies.
