I second that. It's permanent. But, it not a suppressor in the sense of making the gun quiet. It's a flash suppressor. It's called a krink flash hider.
The AKM I got from the Modern Firearms Coll. III, the amplifier flash hider could be removed. I thought it was the same weapon except for the buttstock...?
