I'm still pretty new on this boards but I have browsed other boards (Starship modeler and such) for a while.
Anyway, to the point. I wanted an episode 3 Obi-Wan Kenobi but could not afford (at least for now) the Sideshow offering. I came up with the idea of sculpting a new head to put on a GIJoe body.
Unfortunately, I have almost NO experience sculpting so I ALSO had the idea to cheat a little.
I DO have an Episode 1 Obi-Wan. It may not be the best likeness, but its not bad either. So I used some sculpey to make a Q&D cast of his face. added the rear half of the GIJoe head and poured some two-part epoxy (the five minute curing kind) into the mold.

A few minutes later I had the beginnings of a head. I filled the head in with more of the epoxy and then cleaned up the face.
Tonight I used some... well... more soled two-part epoxy and added hair and a beard. the hair turned out pretty well.. the beard, well its not bad but it could have been MUCH better.

After a quick (unfinished) paint-job here is how my efforts turned out.

here is one of it added to a body (using the other Obi-wan's clothes) holding a light saber that I made.

Well, I know its not entirely my work and its not the greatest (certainly not as good as other work that I have seen here) but the price was right. ;)

eh, its not great either. At least I can sew reasonably well :p the clothes I made should work well once I have a decent head. I'm going to start trying to teach myself how to sculpt here soon.
I Finished the Shirt, obi, and tabards.
Tomorrow, I will try to get started on his pants but since Friday night is date night with the wife it may have to wait until the weekend.
I may just do the belt tomorrow and try to engineer his boots. (I'm making them on my own using leather.)

I finished making his pants today... made my pattern a little too large in the waist but I fixed it. Started work on his boots.. I'll probably finish those tomorrow along with making his belt.

I think that I read somewhere that the color of his pants in this movie was a sort of coffee stained color, so I used a cheap hotel coffee to stain (dye) the fabric I used.

I still have some of it and I'll probably use it on my next figure.
