OK, here's an odd question, but one I've been wondering for a while: other than what' s printed on the box, does anyone have any other information or know any other sources where I can find information on Walenty Pokidanski? And does anyone know why he was chosen as the subject for this type of figure? I just can't find any info on this man other than what's on the box.

If anyone has any info, I'd be interested to know it. Thanks.

I just remember Human Wave's first figure being "Remy Schrijnen", a Flemish SS volunteer, and winner of a Knight's Cross. Not sure if Walenty Pokidanski was a real individual or not, but he represents a Polish soldier in the Soviet forces. That is a complicated tale in itself.

Hi.

I recalled the owner of Human Wave had said this was based on a real person….Here is a link I found to that thread from years back on this forum:

http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/for...ve-upcoming-polish-figure-prototype-pics.html

Also, here is a link which shows a pic of the back of the Walenty's box - which has pictures of the real man.

http://www.escala1sexto.com.br/board/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8795

AND…another link which, if you scroll down, has a photo of Mr Pokidanski from the 1950's.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
