Greetings,

I think someone had asked or wondered about this before. I had seen awesome Spanish civil war bashes from maquitoys.com and OSW members, I was wondering does anyone have a detailed picture of the white slipper / shoes that many of the republican army and international brigade wore in the field, or maybe any idea on how the make one.

another (sort of) dilemma for me is that I notice two versions of said shoes / slippers, one all white and the other with contrasting dark (presumably black) top.

I've seen only illustrations and several grainy black and white pictures. I have very vague idea on how to construct a pair in 1/6. I hope some one could help.

Thank you.

I believe they are called alpargatas, and nowadays vary a lot, it seems. I believe the SCW types included rope-soled versions.

Awesome! thank you so much for the info and links. Here's hoping to make one in 1/6 scale.
