A current Marine sniper would carry an M40A3, which took the place of the M40A1, which replaced the M40. Which variation you choose would depend on time frame. A current Army sniper would have an M24, as the M21 was phased out long ago.
The SR25 is in use, but not quite as a dedicated sniper rifle, although Marine snipers may use the SR25M in the cities. The M110 has just been adopted, but don't look for it to replace the M24 as some reports state. Most SR25s are in use as rifles for designated unit marksmen, replacing the M14s that most are currently carrying.
thanks for the information...then who uses the m110 and or sr 25? or is it not used anymore? and what would the load out be like would the sniper use a belt set up to carry ammo and gear or a moded lbv?
