British army collectors and historians, what rifle would they have used in the 1890s while on guard duty?

The Lee-Metford magazine rifle, issued from about 1889, which was slowly replaced from 1895 by the Lee-Enfield Mk.I.
Both were still in use in the Boer War from 1899.
If you are trying to put together a figure, it's best to work from a photo. The Lee-Metford has grooves on the stock , which were absent from the Lee-Enfield.
I have them in stock in resin, since I don't think you will find one elsewhere.
