WTF did this guy do in 'Nam? SEAL? Under Water Demo? What's the difference? For the longest time i had one of those Man of Action figures dressed in SOTW Nam UDT gear, but he's always claiming he was a SEAL....

Besides being a huge blowhard? He's been asked that question many times, and each answer is different. He claims he was trained as UDT, but is a SEAL, because there's really no difference in the training. If he can't work a reference to his service as a SEAL into every interview, it just ruins his day. BAH!
He served in the Navy during Vietnam. Beyond that, who knows what the truth is?
BTW, he was a LOUSY Governor! I had to live thru 4 years of this moron, and it was awful! Anyone from California reading this- don't be starstruck! Jesse was too busy being a celebrity to really bother witht he day-to-day hard WORK of being a Governor. As soon as it was apparent he'd worn out his welcome, he became his usual surly, petulant self. Thank God he didn't try for a second term.
Sorry for the rant, this is just a real sore subject with me.

Even without the hindsight of his reign in Minnesota, I would still pick Ahnold over the Body anyday. Just can't take a former, flamboyant pro wrestler who wore pink boas and zebra print tights outisde the ring seriously...

I couldn't agree...

more JTFazz! He shouldn't be taken seriously, on any level. Jesse's favorite subject is Jesse, 24/7. If the folks in CA elect Ahnold, more power to them. I wish them better luck than we had.

Don't forget the Kingfish's brother, Earl Long... I loved reading about his exploits in graduate school, a real character for sure.

According to what I remember of the excerperts of the unaurthorized Jesse bio, his rate(MOS) was Store Keepers Mate, supply clerk. Two things to remember: 1- When you join the SEALs you have to have a specific rating, Storekeeper being one of them. Two, no matter what else, he passed BUD/S. In my book, he's a SEAL. His former commander said he went out on serveral missions & performed well, & left it at that. Whatever else, he passed the training & served his 6 month tour, imo he's allowed to bragg about that. His politics skills, wellll....,that's another story.

Now, Jesse vs. Ahnold. Ahnold was a millionair before he made Conan. He made it through real estate & other business dealings. His business savvy should let him be a better govenor. Just my 2cents

I feel for you JTFazz and Broadsword 6. Not only is my state, California in depression era mode, we allow insult to belittle injury by allowing nimwits like Arnold, Gary Coleman, Angelique, some porn star and a LT. Gov. who likes to drop the "N" bomb naturally, to muddy a process that is extremely serious.

I feel for you, bud.

I hope you folks in CA elect someone who will serve the interests of the voters, and not his/ her own first & foremost. That may be an impossibilty in today's political world, but I can hope. I know our experiment with a celebrity Governor and a "three-legged-stool" of government (Democrats, Republicans & Independents)
was a miserable failure. I do think it is a VERY good thing for elected officials to be reminded that they serve at the tolerance of the electorate, and had best not give in to the notion they are above reproach.
Good luck to you all. The rest of the nation will be watching.
