Decided to start using my camera rather than my iPhone for figure photos... so spent an hour or so playing about with some figures last night.

Some really nice figures!
Pictures look great and from experience I'd say a pretty nice camera as well. You may want just a little more light or tweak the pictures with a photo editor.

Thanks Hankster, I have camera lights so might set up a table using them and take some brighter ones with some near backlighting. The above were taken by redirecting the flash. I wanted moody... but may have overdone it haha

Nothing wrong with moody. I think they look good. Using a flash to try and get a natural light look can be tricky, and I think they turned out great.

Thanks Stryker... I want to be more ambitious later on, so will get a lot of practice playing about with the lighting. I was seduced by the iPhone camera, but using a 'proper' camera is so much more fun.

The photos look good. I like the low key lighting. I think there are more options with a proper camera, as you were doing here with the flash off camera. Works much better than on camera. I've been playing with 1/6 photography too. Got some good results using a reflector. Actually, I used an umbrella for fill light. But I am thinking of trying something with lights to add more drama.
