Just wanted to share the photos from this past weekends FAMCON 2014 show at Frank & Sons. Our local hobby group, AZ Joeheads, traveled out to California for the show and displayed our latest diorama.

This year we decided to take on Vietnam by doing the Battle of Hue City, 1968 Tet Offensive, displaying Marines in action. We had a large diorama with some flame effects and music from Full Metal Jacket and other Vietnam movies & TV in the background for fun. We had a great time at the show and enjoyed all the positive feedback from the patrons as well as some actual Vietnam vets.

I have posted about 175 pics from the show of our diorama, the custom figure competition, other vendor tables and just anything that looked cool, so feel free to browse them all here:

We will have more photos from our more professional camera up on our website and Facebook pages too.

Here are a few pics to give you a taste of the displays.
Thanks.

Had a good time and the fellows really did a great job with the figures for the dio. I wanted to say that the head honcho of the show really impressed me when he came over and asked us for our opinions on how to make for a better show in the future. I had talked to Chris about doing a show dio back in May and he didn't know me from a hole in the ground and I think he was surprised at the scope of what the AZ Joeheads can do. With that kind of open ear and common sense I am hopeful that the shows can get better and better. Now if the vendors will show and the hobby comes around and the people fill the hall and............ that is alot of if's. I always have a blast spending my time in the shop (garage) making buildings and airbrushing vehicles and fixing up the fig.s for dios and when I get to see people getting a kick out of them at the show it is fun as well. Just as long as they don't finger bang the stuff we will get along. I was under the impression that other groups were going to do dios as well. Hope that we aren't the only ones doing them as I remember a Zulu dio that really was kickin' back at a WOH show a few years back. Now if the trip home wasn't so ****ty it would have been the perfect weekend.

I reposted the link for the myspace page where I keep all the photos from all of our past events (it just works so easy for me to load 180 pics in 2 minutes...everything else just takes too long / hassle). So just in case anyone has issues please let me know and try this link:

I'll post a few more pics here too. Enjoy.
