SO . . .

WHY am I (of all members) posting this?

I joined the original incarnation of the OSW way back in 1999/2000 during the bad good old days or good bad old days of ezboard some time after I started collecting 1:6.

It's been quite an interesting journey to the say least.

OSW weathered a myriad of membership and staff changes . . . storms . . . and other issues throughout the years.

In spite of the changes and shifts, OSW is the sum of its members.

We weathered some serious technical issues a couple of years ago. We survived and continued on.

We're weathering another round of technical issues due to change of ownership. In the end, we'll get by. It's not necessarily going to be pleasant though.

For those of us choosing to weather through the ups and downs, that's fine. For those of us choosing to move on or take a step back for whatever reasons, that's fine.

In one way or another . . . the OSW will be here until the lights go out and the CLOSED sign is hanged . . . whenever that may be . . . regardless of who owns it.

A former member likened the OSW to an old west saloon/bar. Some of us will be here until the last call.

It's up to us to keep this going.
I know there are many 1:6 sites but OSW is still where I prefer to be in.

To paraphrase the old saying- The wheel may be broken but it's the only wheel in town:wink

I can't even tell there are problems. Everything seems good on my end.
I joined in 2006 and I can tell you the boards were much busier back then. I haven't been around as long as other members so maybe I just joined during a surge or something but it's certainly hasn't been as active here since my early days. That being said I'm glad to see OSW still going even if I'm also guilty of not being as active in the hobby or the board. I'll keep checking in as long as OSW is around.

I agree- this is the place I prefer to be...it does have some issues, but I like the kind of crowd it draws...

There are always going to be some technical issues, and I'm sure the new owners will get them under control. Until then, it's up to us to power through and keep the board alive and active.

It'll take take more than a few bugs to drive me off. I'm with you DFC. If this is a bar, I'm here til the lights come up and they kick me out.
