Top 10 1/6 Figures

I know this is such a daunting task for most of you guys, and its really quite hard to limit your favorites to just 10 Figures.

Im a new collector and therefore, am not really aware with all the cool figures produced.

So Ok, in your opinion, which figures should be a "Must Haves" in every 1/6th collector's stash.

Mine goes like this:

HT Power Loader w/Ripley
Takara Batman
Takara Jin Roh
Medicom Darth Vader
HT Elder Predator
EB Bruce Lee GOD
HT Jack Sparrow
HT Socom
Takara Washio Panzer
HT Alien Warrior

heh, it's hard for me. My number one has to be the old DML Klaus for purely sentimental reasons
Along that same track, probably the even older 21st century Mac V Sog figure goes up there, but, I have so many figs I love in my collection, its hard to say.

This is tough. Some of the figures I really love I don't even own. Here is my list anyway.

The ones I own.
Takara PanzerCop female
Takara PanzerCop male
DiD Manfred Luftwaffen officer
Sideshow Mace Windu
Ignite Hospitaler

The ones I don't own (or don't own yet)
HT Appleseed figures (both)
Takara Appleseed
Takara Catwoman
Takara Batman

Top 10 for me is tough because I don't think I have any figure in my collection that I bought boxed, that is still in it's original form.I think my Raptor,Hawkeye and renegade are the only 2 that might be recognizable as from their box without too many mods.
But here are a few I can think of I

DML Zimm
TS Nam SEAL pointman
BBi Z112 Carabinieri
HT CIA,Original version with the long shirt
TS Specfigures Delta
TS Specfigures SAS
ACE CQB's with the Trauma vest

Rather hard for me as well...But along with Deuterides, I would pick the 21st Century Urban Assault figure and BBi Kretchet for sentimental reasons. The Urban Assault simply because he was my first figure that really sparked my interest. And Kretchet because he was my first really nice figure, and it opened my eyes even more to this great hobby.

I'm with Corran...there isn't a figure on my shelf that hasn't been augmented in some way...but I'm going to take a few stabs.

I can't really make a top 10....but I do have some notables that bear mentioning:

Dragon HANS: Their first release changed everything. For $45 bucks (expensive at the time), this one figure alone put a few dozen customizers out of business who were charging about $200 for a similar figure with the same level of detail. Remember back when customizers would charge $80 bucks for a german tunic and pants that would fit a "Hall of Fame" sized GI Joe?? :D Oh the mind reels....

Ignite's Roman: The one that looks like Russel Crowe in Gladiator...incredible detail and figure (and the unlicensed likeness!) :)

21st Century Toys: Any of their Nam or Modern or WW2 releases in their first few years. Absolutely amazing value for the money....sure, by todays standards the plastic pouches and stuff dont look as great as they did then, but the 3 foot rule applies...with a little paint and weathering at 3 feet they can still look awesome. Also, produced items that nobody else would touch...they literally re-launched the HObby...until Dragon ate their lunch.

GI Joe Mission Splashdown: Reissued astronaut with Gemini-styled Space Capsule.
Nuff said.

Action Man SAS. Black jumpsuit....grey anti-flash hood....black facemask...badass! :)

I could go on forever, but I think those are some of the pretty important 1/6 new releases..and yeah I'm totally vague on any of them. I think every single release is worthy of some love. :)

Top of my list is my original JOE from when I was littler than I am now.

Then, there's;

The recently re-released AT JOES (5)

I'm still amazed by my SST General George Washington

The PT horse. Great bang for the buck.
Add the PT donkey on principle.

I leave number ten open, as my next fig is always my current favorite.

Here are my top 10 for the moment.

1. Medicom Boba Fett (no one can resist a Fett... resistance is futile!)
2. Medicom Ultraman Ver B
3. Medicom Masked Riders Classic (the first 5 only ie No.1, No.2, V3, Riderman & Rider X. Sadly, I am still missing V3 & Riderman)
4. Hasbro Biker Scout w/ Bike (Target Exclusive)
5. Hot Toys Firefighter, both Trainee & Lt
6. Medicom Ultraman human form Hayata (don't own this one as well)
7. DiD Samurai series - all 3 of them
8. DML NAM US Marine "Russel"
9. Medicom Sandtrooper
10. Medicom Lion Maru G & Tiger Joe

Frankly speaking in 1:6 collecting, there is no one standard for a person to call a figure "great". It all come down to what you actually want and are interested in. If you look at my list, quite obviously I am a fan of Japanese super heroes of which some folks may not even have heard of. So many times, one's dirt is another one's gold :)

Hot Toys ED-209 is #1 for me right now. But I think the powerloader will take the cake. Just got to get it here. My list is never static. It is always changing.

Since I haven't bought a boxed military figure in years (aside for TS figures just for parts), I really don't know.

The only figures I buy and keep as-is are the SST Star Wars figures.

But, I have a feeling that I will be IN LOVE with the upcoming HT Appleseed figures! I've been waiting for those since I like 1990!!!

2) BBi Trident (good base boxed figure to bash)
3) BBi Raider
4) SAS HALO Jungle
5) HT Rambo (new civy version)
6) HT Seal Mountain Striker (Uniqueness of kit)
7) DML Alfons - sheer amount of kit - 4 figures in 1
8) DID Napolionic - particualrly 95th rifles.
9) HT POC Depp - dont own one but the figure is a work of art
10) DML Graham - a brit figure!!!

Wow - tough question. I only do WWII (with a few exceptions) so you can most likely guess where I am going with this:

My Favs are:
- SS George Washington
- SS Revolutionary Brit and Yank
- SS Abe Lincoln
- SS R Lee Ermy
- Dragon Buzz Aldrin
- DiD Samurais (All so far)
- Medicom Boba Fett
- BBi Japanese Pilot (recently added to the list - although I am not a big
pilot collector, this figure is just way too impressive to not be
mentioned.)
- BBi Japanese Officer (recently added to list. A very well executed figure!)
- TUS SEarch and Rescue (This figure was the one that got me back in - I was amazed at the amount of gear and detail - although i recently sold him off)

After a few edits,I finally hit 10, and yes very few are WWII, but since I squad build, my WWII figs jsut don't stand out like my exceptions (which those comprise my complete list of exceptions). Plus they are mostly based on real people which adds to the attraction for me.

I have to agree with 38oliver's saying the GI Joe repros are cool, though.

Despite having seen, and even owning, all kinds of high end crazy 1/6 figures, there was something really cool about getting that bearded Joe with the Kung Fu grip for $15. I probably messed with it more than I have any other figure.

if you just remove the ED-209 and the ALIENS POWER LOADER then you've just listed my "wants" list of the last 3-4 years. :)
