This shop which is a collective/co-op type of deal opened recently in neck of the woods. They've got a lot of potential tools that would lend themselves to customizing parts and scratch building some nice stuff. Looks promising, but pricey. Anyone else have something like this around them?

Something in the general realm, but more art related. http://www.goggleworks.org/ Looks like you pay to be a studio artist. Doesn't seem to be the same in regard to access to tools and facilities. Generator is very pricy, only you could deem it worthwhile to yourself. Maybe if you had access to the CAD software, and 3D printers to turn out enough items to sell in order to help finance the membership?
