I want to paint some DMl jackboots for a pirate figure that I want to do, but the paint keeps running off.

I'm using Liquitex paint. I tried diluted and straight from the tube, with te same effect.

Any help with problem is greatly appreciated.

cc,

have you tried spraying some testors dull coat on it first? Then using some acrylic paint, after the dull coat has dried? I've had luck with that, including painting dml boots.

CC, I use a product called Nulife Preparer for shoes. Y ou should be able to find it at a good shoe repair place. It's not cheap but it really works.
Rex Adams told me about this stuuf a few years ago and it works great,

I've used a brand of Artist Gouche type paints by Jo Sonya. Rob Caswell suggested these to me and they've worked out well. I've painted boots with them and they've been pretty flexible.

I've found them in AC Moore stores.
