]The figure represents a soldier from 2nd Dragoons of Lusitania Regiment, November, 18th, 1809 , in Ocaña's town (Toledo) . Framed in the Army called "Ejercito Reunido del Centro", Spanish Cavalry commanded by Field Marshal D. Manuel Freire , 4th Cavalry Division commanded by Brigadier D. Vicente Ossorio . In its rapid progression from Despeñaperros (Andalucia) with the rest of the army, is distinguished in the action of the Cuesta del Madero (La Guardia,Toledo) . The troops are in good spirits for the same progression and be as near to Madrid, but the defeat and rout of other cavalry units that day 18 in Ontígola action , do not bode well for the battle ahead the next day in Ocaña. Still, the Lusitania was covered of glory once again led by Major D. Francisco Chaperon to protect the retreat of Zayas and Giron Infantry Divisions , saving the honor of Spanish Cavalry in that disastrous battle .
This is a great bit of work , and highly original in the choice of subject. Bravo !
( P.S. He needs a horse .. . I know its a lot of work , but just imagine how good he would look).

A wonderful figure! The color and cut of his uniform, characteristic bandana, and the head sculpt works perfectly. The heavy cavalry sword is a beast, some impressive Spanish steel.
One of the best I have seen. Bravo!
