Is anyone REALLY surprised? I have always been a huge fan of this character so therefore Im biased towards figures of it and also highly critical of them. But that's my own personal bag of et!!!! I have had the figure for less than a month. I took off the head sculpt today and a piece of skin/rubber/paint (I don't know for sure) was hanging off the neck and I had to peel it off (like one does after experiencing a sunburn). I never owned or have held in hand HTS' Gamora or Rambo. What exactly were the issues associated with those figures "seamless bodies?" How did you keep then in good shape and prevent further damage? I have posed the neck and head in various ways to get pictures I like. But not that much posing and not for more than a few minutes each time. What do you think?

Wonder Woman has been with us for 76 years next month. No surprise that she is deteriorating.

On a serious note, we can't stop this kind of plastic from deteriorating unless we keep it vacuum-sealed in a cool, dark container. But we should be expecting more than a few months before this kind of degradation. IMO if this is the only section that peels off, then it is a small flaw in the plastic and can't be helped. If it continues to happen then you should return it.

I don't think the issue is that maybe Comicsrcoll78 happened to get some defective figure and he can return it. I think the larger issue is whether this flags a potential problem, with new materials or something, specifically on the new HT WW along with its other issues. Apart from the practicalities (of whether he can wait a few months and still return the figure) there's the question of whether returning makes any sense, if he still wants Wonder Woman, and any replacement might do the same or worse. If only Howard Chan was Elon Musk, he'd be texting Comicsrcoll78 with a personal apology about now... We can dream.

That will be the paint coming off. With the rubberized bodies brands will use paint to simulate different aspects of the skin appearance. When they aren't sealed or cured properly, they'll rub off like that. Newer Soldier Story bodies are bad for that, as are the rubberized arms DAM has used in the past. You have to be quite careful as they sometimes can rub off without much contact, just enough friction where you might have been touching it when removing a head, outfit, etc.

I'm sorry, but if I am going to pay the kind of prices HT demands for its figures, they had better stand up to more handluing than that. If this is the kind of quality control that HT is going to make standard, then they need to cut their prices. I understand these are generally display pieces. However, you should be able to pose them with little fear of peeling paint or other discrepancies.

AFM-yes I am planning on a body swap (I just didn't think I'd need to do it so quickly). AdamC - I wondered the same thing. But if is just the paint, would it peel off like dead skin does? MoonbaseAM-You're right. What's the point of returning it if it's a general issue with the figure itself? I don't even know yet if I can return it. I'm going to wait until this weekend because I don't want to make a rash decision. And Hawkdoc60 I completely agree, and I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Did any of you own a HTS seamless body figure from previous releases?

This video might be useful CUSTOM HOT TOYS Phicen Batman V Superman Wonder Woman Figure MMS359 - YouTube. I think the Phicen he's swapping to is slimmer and less chesty than Sparta, and every micron counts if you've got to slide all her body down into the corset armor. If you're going to slice the corset apart and somehow reassemble it, then it doesn't matter. And as you probably know there's going to be a skin tone problem because HT WW is very dark. The guy in the video gets around that by using a knock-off sculpt that's lighter. Meaning that he paid Hot Toys for Wonder Woman and only ended up keeping the corset and armor bits.

Thanks I will take a look. And just to be clear, I'm not insulting this WW figure. It is very cool. It looks great. It's great to have a 1/6 scale interpretation of Gal Gadot as WW (name a positive et). But I will call it out when I notice issues it shouldn't have @$250!!!!

It is possible there is some sort of clear coat sprayed first or coating on the body. With the others I have seen it doesn't quite peel, more like rubs out in sections, but you end up with a similar look. You could try reaching out to Sideshow and see what they say. No harm in asking if they are aware of any issues and what remedies they are providing. They are quite customer centric.

Well that sucks. Issues already. I have Gamora, and I haven't had problems with her; that being said, I didn't manipulate her arms much. I put her in a museum pose I could live with, and, other than having to pack her up for the move to a new house, didn't touch her again.

Stryker2011: ok just to clarify - you've had zero issues with peeling or breaking skin because you're very careful with how you handle figure? One reason I was nervous about ordering WW (and maybe I'm overreacting to this issue) is because I read so many negative things about Gamora's skin and breakage. Thanks man.

Correct. I knew going in Gamora was going to be touchy, so I didn't manipulate her arms hardly at all. They are virtually, but not quite, straight; I wasn't about to play with her much, since HT has a horrible track record with all things rubber.

I would like to thank you gentlemen and these discussions for allowing me to resist temptation and thus leaving a sizable chunk of money in my wallet, esp. when Dr Strange and a couple of Gangster Kingdoms are coming in about the same time.

Mr. Chan I'm ready, willing and able for the HT WW JL version if you get it right. In the meantime I surprisingly like the Mattel 12" WW more than I expected to. I'm not fool enough to confuse the two -- but I respect a cheaper retail figure that's successful for what it's supposed to be, over a premium figure, that's not.
