DUPLICATE THREAD!!! CONSIDER THREAD CLOSED.

Hi 1/6 figure fans,

I'm a new member to this awesome community. .Had been lurking around and finally decided to join and ask for advice. .Greatly appreciates your thoughts and comments.

This will be my very first 1/6 scale figure. .Initially was gonna pull the trigger on a 3A JungleVet, mainly for its articulated fingers/hand (yes, I have a finger/hand fetish for my figures), then found this site which opened up a whole new way to increase my credit card debt.

So from what I've seen and learned on this forum so far, here's what I've narrowed down to:
1st choice: Barrack Sergeant PMC, either original($75) or OSF exclusive($99). (seems like only the head sculpt and scarf is different, which is better?)
If not, then any one of the Soldier Story, DAM, or Toy City, as these brands seems like they make good quality figures. .Correct me if I'm wrong.

I've also looked at creating (kitbash?) my own with a TTL v2 or v3 body, but the price to gather all the parts are close to buying a brand new box figure, is this true? .Or am I doing it wrong?

All comment and suggestions are welcome! .Thank you for looking.

Welcome aboard, WhiteWabbit. The Barrack Sergeant figures are older, but not too bad. I think they have one of the better bodies, articulation-wise. It's hard to go wrong with with Soldier Story or DAM figures, and Toy City has some great sculpts with decent gear.
You're on to the whole bashing conundrum. With patience and ample luck, you can put together some good stuff, with a bit less cost. The problem is that loose parts have gotten a bit crazy in some cases. It pays to do some footwork, checking and comparing the numerous resource sites. At times, you may find a boxed set a preferable approach. There are also trade and group buy options, once you've established yourself.

@pukingdog - Thank you for your input. The BS indeed is an older figure, as everyone else has been informing me, but due to its good review I thought it would be a good place to start. But I think now I will reconsider and go with either a SS or a CD box figure as my first and get into kitbash after gaining some experience.

This thread is actually a duplicate.... If mods see this, please help close/delete thread. Thanks.
