This is an interesting picture I discovered recently, purportedly of mid-2000's SAS.

Would that kind of spray-paint camo, as seen on the RAV, be seen at all in US SOF arrangements?

I haven't seen or heard of it in close to a decade. We spend a boat load of money on gear in comparison to any other country. The last time I saw DIY camo in SOF was a protec helmet in the spec ops museum in Fayetteville that steveO turned me on to.

I sense you won't see a lot of this type of camo on vests, pouches & uniforms except for snipers. Yes on weapons.

That's about what I thought. The only other picture I've really been able to find (aside from a SEAL's Blackhawk rig) is this one of an SF operator.

I thought it would be something interesting to liven up a bash I'm considering.

That's definitely a UK SF photo.
Quite a few of those British photos from Iraq are on the web, taken by members of TF Black and TF Knight.
