Sorry... am still a noob regarding firearms... but what's wrong with having automatic settings?
Armed police officers in London don't have access to weapons capable of automatic fire, only those that are semi-automatic, only.
SCO19 may have weapons capable of automatic fire, but I'm not certain.

Late to the game, I know, but I check in only every now and then to this site.

It's 90% accurate for a DPG (Diplomatic Protection Group) or a Parliament or Royalty Firearms Officer. As with the Wayne MPS PC, I'm quite impressed with the attention to detail. There are minor errors, but I'm happy to see that the hitting stick is indeed an asp or a monadnock, and not a side-handled baton this time around.

Some observations

- The ballistic vest is pucka.
- The Trousers should be dark blue, the Met doesn't wear Black trousers.
- The epaulettes are correctly displayed as fabric ones, not the black ones with metal numerals on them.
- But the epaulettes should be dark blue with white lettering.
- Numerals: I could flatter myself by claiming they paid attention to my critique of the Wayne model, as the numerals are correct for a borough PC - two letters and three numbers - but they're just paying tribute to Hipster Cop. WW is Wandsworth Borough, if anyone's interested. Hipster Cop, in that famous photo - shown above - is a Borough PC, wearing Public Order Equipment. Note the epaulettes and their colour. His armour is worn underneath the overalls.
- Firearms Officers would usually have either CO, D or SO with four numbers below it. Sergeants would have three.
- The baseball cap: so close! The colour of the hat should maybe be a smidge darker. The Met Police badge on it is the wrong colour. Police Staff - SOCOs (Forensic examiners), PCSOs, and station officers wear a light blue MPS badge like that. Officers wear a dark blue badge. I suppose it would be like having a model British Soldier with American sergeants' stripes.

Overall though, I'm really impressed.

For those who want a really authentic firearms cop, scuff his boots to hell and make his flat cap look completely saggy and battered! :thumb

I'll be using your post for some tweaks to the figure, Moggy. Some of it sounds readily fixable, other parts may require dye or fabric paint. I wonder if Modeling Toys might have been fooled by the pictures of the trousers, the blue-black hues can be tricky. They likely thought it was black. By your last remark, I gather that inspections and standards are a bit more relaxed for armed police?

Potentially. Counties forces tend to wear black, but the Met rocks a lot more blue. You also sometimes see BTP Officers wearing black kit and they are sometimes confused for Met because they are also deployed in London.

Regarding smartness, I was joking; I think with boots and whatnot it's more down to the cop or the team. But the hat, well, it's sort of a running joke that the more battered the hat, the more experienced the cop! So you get probationers with a month in ditching the wire lining of their flat hat and bending it at every opportunity! Having an extremely well-worn flat hat would be entirely accurate, for any Uniform cop. Sadly for ladies, it's very difficult to get the bowler hat to look anything other than a bowler hat.

Anyway, I am more than happy to provide advice or pointers for Met kit, uniforms and some of the culture etc.

Here's my Constable Wayne. It's taken me a long time to put the figure together. Following up my prior comments, the manufacturer did finally replace some missing and defective parts through the seller. In general, many of the parts are extremely fragile especially on the connections , and I've had to pull out the glue a few times. I'm keen to see what their third figure will be.

I approve immensely of the corrected epaulettes. It took the job over a year and a half to make and send me my name badges, so it is potentially feasible that a copper could still have some Constable xxxxxxx name badges.
.
Looking at the Constable Wayne set up, I can only once again note that the level of detail is by and large absolutely excellent

Hi there,

Would anyone be able to provide me with the details regarding the manufacturers of this model, it has been modelled on a friend of mine using his name and face and he would like to contact them, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers in advance.
