Well, i purchased some gear on ebay-toy soldier mike force.
Not familiar with this sections details.
Pics show cap/scarf/arm patch...are these accurate?
Thanks.
Yep. The beret flash is Fifth Special Forces Group with Captain's bars. The scarf is an indigenous one as worn by the troops he would be advising. The skull patch is an early Mike Force one.
The 5th beret flash was adapted to be used in Vietnam with the addition of the yellow and red stripes, which was the flag of South Vietnam. They still use the flash today, but it is just black with a white outline now.
The Skull and Cross Bones patch was unique to III Corps MIKE Force from 1965-1967. It was banned because 5th Special Forces for the stated reason that the skull and cross bones didn't fit the values of the Free World. The unstated reason was that "MF" didn't actually stand for "MIKE Force".
