Found the latest up-date (Sept. 01, 2017) about this, but not much actual news to report, other than it looks like it's going to be made, with a fund of $500,000,000.00....

Wishful thinking my friend...the article you quote says that work on the Mighty Eighth mini series will begin shortly after "The Pacific". The Pacific was released seven years ago. I don't know if this project will ever see the light. I wish it would though.

I hope your waterstick is correct on this one. I am a huge Eighth Air Force fan / collector and this would be awesome I'm sure. I just can't see HBO putting that much money into this project when an equivalent mini series season like Game of Thrones is budgeted for 120 million. The figures just don't add up to me.
