Found the latest up-date (Sept. 01, 2017) about this, but not much actual news to report, other than it looks like it's going to be made, with a fund of $500,000,000.00....

Wishful thinking my friend...the article you quote says that work on the Mighty Eighth mini series will begin shortly after "The Pacific". The Pacific was released seven years ago. I don't know if this project will ever see the light. I wish it would though.

Ah, read it again, or better yet, here it is:

Regardless, while the plan was to start filming The Mighty Eighty not long after the second mini-series, said plan has encountered more than its fair share of setbacks. However, it seems that everything is ready for filming to begin on the mini-series, which will have a remarkable $500 million ready for use by its makers

Says the plan WAS to start filming after The Pacific.....now it says everything is ready to start...

I hope your waterstick is correct on this one. I am a huge Eighth Air Force fan / collector and this would be awesome I'm sure. I just can't see HBO putting that much money into this project when an equivalent mini series season like Game of Thrones is budgeted for 120 million. The figures just don't add up to me.

Again, they say the money's already there, so.....

Besides, Games of Thrones is merely a fantasy soap opera......Masters of the Air was real......:wink
