what company made the metal M60 ammo belts... and does anyone still stock them ??

Playkid and Barrack Sargeant have both made them. A couple weeks ago Goodstufftogo.net still have the Playkid ones, so I'd check there first.

I was just at GSTG the other day and they are sold out. They had the PlayKid belts for quite a while. Before I found the PlayKid version, I looked high and low for the BS version and couldn't find it anywhere. They sell the metal rounds and links with their LMG kits, but its a lot to pay for what would amount to a short belt.

TMT Hobby at ebay has the Playkid version if I'm not mistaken. Store-rooms/manhohole has the Playkid version too I guess.

Check uuder: "Miscellaneous - Denali Vest, G43, Helmet, Ammo Links" on the GSTG site. They have a 25 link, 7.62 ammo belt of unlisted manufacturer.
