No our hobby will not resort to this. Not even sure how they can get sued for leaving a negative review but I only read about half the story.

If that's the case, then every company, from DML to DiD to TUS to BBI to Hot Toys, etc, etc, etc, would be able to live solely off the fines, and never have to produce another figure......hey, maybe that's Dragon's plan.....:wink

Each one of the 1:6 companies have been vilified, here and elsewhere, so many times that the dollar amount in penalties would be astronomical..... :doh

In Canada that would never fly, simply because our securities rules are completely different in terms of what and what is not considered libel.

If SOPA had passed, any company could've had any negative review of their products taken down for "unauthorized usage of copyright and trademark". SOPA didn't pass but companies have been finding ways to get their way regardless.

I'd say that outfit earned itself damage to it's reputation far in excess of that chickensh*t punitive fine.

You can stick whatever you want into a contract- whether or not it's legal is another matter. A company could put into their TOS that if you violate a scheduled payment due date, you have to give over one of your children as a late fee. Good luck enforcing it in court, though.
