Hi. I thought I'd seen something about it somewhere here before, but a search hasn't turned up anything. I'm having to do some sewing and then just simply tying of things together with thread, but I don't want to leave long loosed threads past the knot. What is the best way to keep the knot from coming undone after cutting the loose bits off as close to the knot as possible? Thanks in advance for any tips.

There's also FrayCheck which you can buy at any fabric store. Specifically made for cloth, and I find it's useful for times when I cut up some article of 1:6 clothing and want to keep it from fraying.

It's also what I use to finish when I'm sewing on 1:1 buttons :). Who said the hobby didn't have side benefits?
