See subject.

SICARIO (2015) is one of my favorite films within the past couple of years for a variety of reasons.

It's been a little over two years since the film's release and surprisingly we've yet to see any 1:6 offerings "inspired" by the characters within the film.

At the very least, I thought we would have seen either a fully loaded boxed figure of "Alejandro" or at least a head sculpt so we can customize/kit bash our own?

With the upcoming sequel later on this year, I wonder if one or more of the known 1:6 brands (i.e. SOLDIER STORY, DAM, VTS, ART FIGURES, etc.) would consider or perhaps planned such a figure?

It seems to depend upon the Asian market as to what gets made, how well did the movie do there? If it didn't do so well then not even minor companies would look at it.

Just because 'you' liked it, it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone did. I haven't seen the movie myself, but may get round to it at some point.

CHEERS!

Well, with Benicio del Toro being in the new Star Wars movie, we'll probably get at least a head sculpt and then, as DFC pointed out, we can kitbash. I liked the movie too, and I heard it mentioned last night on TV in a documentary about someone whose story served as inspiration for the film.

I see Benicio Del Toro as a very good example of an actor whose career and roles see a consistent progression and variety with an occasional misstep that results in maturity more so compared to other actors of his generation.

His role as Alejandro in SICARIO is honestly one of his best given the material he was provided that could have gone the stereotypical route for such a character, but it didn't.

I checked through a couple of parts bins and I have pretty much everything I need with a few compromises to build the figure. I just want a good 1:6 head sculpt of him as pictured.

A BDT headsculpt would be rad to have although an Emily Blunt or Josh Brolin headsculpt would be awesome too.
Who knows, we may see yet another new brand appear out nowhere offering figures from this show.

I also assume some celebrities are very careful with the licensing their of image. Maybe they don’t like the idea of it being used in a figure/doll for whatever reason including later being bashed into just about anything. But I suppose that’s no different that unlicensed photoshopping of their image in digital form. Just musing really. Don’t have an answer.

Interesting idea for a kitbash, I might have to get on that. I loved the film and can't wait for the sequel, however one thing that really stuck out like a sore thumb (to me...) were the "Delta Force" operators on the cross-border tunnel raid... their uniforms and kit were pretty messed-up and unrealistic, down to the 1980s-style web pistol belts and clean M4s with ACOGs. They even used M9 pistols and monocular NVGs. Given the amount of films and shows out about Tier 1 SOF (SEAL Team, "6", The Brave etc...) you'd think producers would have gotten better at kitting out SOF actors (they even hired former Delta operators for Sicario). But, otherwise the film was stellar and this was a minor detail. :rant

I loved the movie but see no reason to do the characters in 1/6th form....would love a Emily head sculpt if they can capture her likeness....but hey to each there own. If made depending on how well they were done and not overly priced I could see me grabbing them

My question is this.

Would the DELTA operators actually be using the same exact gear/load outs as they did where they were "officially" deployed?

The DELTA operators were assigned under the auspices as Josh Brolin's character DOD advisor/specialist for domestic operations under the guidance of Blunt's FBI jurisdiction?

Then wouldn't their gear due to the nature of the operations be sourced based on what is available that is not as advanced/current as what they used in combat, but scaled down in terms of variety while the users would effectively use them accordingly?

The same goes for the camouflage BDUs as well.
