Hot Toys continues their Star Wars: The Last Jedi collection with a pair of Praetorian Guards, the red robed protectors of Supreme Leader Snoke.

Influenced by the Emperor's Royal Guard seen in Return of the Jedi, two versions of these new elite warriors will be offered: a Praetorian Guard with Heavy Blade (MMS453) and my personal favorite, a Praetorian Guard with Double Blade (MMS454). The difference between the two is their unique helmets (each comes with two options) and of course their weapons of choice. Scroll on for details and loads of new photos.

The 1/6th scale Praetorian Guard Collectible Figures feature:

- Authentic and detailed likeness of Praetorian Guard in Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Two (2) newly developed interchangeable helmets
- Specially applied glossy red colored painting on armor
- Approximately 30 cm tall
- Newly developed body with over 30 points of articulations
- Six (6) pieces of interchangeable gloved hands including:
- One (1) pair of hands for holding weapons
- Two (2) pairs of gesturing hands

Costume:
- One (1) newly designed Praetorian Guard armor with 10 individual arm armor plates on both arms
- One (1) newly developed red colored leather-like base layer
- One (1) pair of leather-like black colored pants
- One (1) pair of red boots

Weapons (Double Blade):
- One (1) single blade
- Two (2) blades (can be attached together as double blade)

Weapons (Heavy Blade):
- One (1) whip staff
- One (1) whip staff (extended mode)
- One (1) heavy blade

Accessory:
- Specially designed figure stand with nameplate and Star Wars logo

Release date: Approximately Q2 - Q3, 2018

Two heads with one figure rather than a two pack with an exclusive head? From Hot Toys? Someone's getting fired over this. Oh, I wasn't paying enough attention, there are two seperate versions of the exact same thing. Job secure.

My complaint is probably not the fault of Hot Toys but rather the film's designers: there is too much unbroken red plastic! It looks like plastic because it has no contrast. Havin said that, I will probably get one or two - can't resist Star Wars!

Glad to see that's not just me either!
I thought Kylo Ren was an awful character - his portrayal and design... really surprised they haven't given him a big upgrade for the Last Jedi.... but then again, I really didn't like The Force Awakens, sadly!
I liked The Force Awakens and I liked the idea behind Kylo Ren. The problem was he was just an angry teenager rather than a menacing villain. He should have been introduced in an earlier film doing all sorts of evil stuff and then finish him off in TFO.

Personally I don't think they set him up very well at all -.he does come across as just a gloomy teenager who's only motivation is that his grandfather was Vader! Added to that I really don't like the design of his costume or mask, very forgettable and not at all icon which SW villains are famous for being.
